All patients are required to register on the Simple Report website when receiving a COVID test at our facility. The State of Illinois and the Federal Government require reporting of your COVID test results in the Simple Report portal. When it comes to effective COVID-19 testing, having all of the facts is absolutely necessary. If you believe you have contracted the Coronavirus or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, the first step is to come in for a thorough examination. At Central Illinois Urgent Care, we’re able to provide residents of Effingham, Forsyth, Taylorville and Litchfield, with the proper COVID testing, in part, because we perform the tests on-site, with Rapid Test results usually ready in 15 minutes, and PCR Test results typically back within 24 to 48 hours. Depending on the results of the test, we can then begin to answer questions that you might have, as well as provide treatment for symptoms or refer you to specialists if needed.
We provide the following tests on-site, with patients being tested from their vehicles.
- Rapid Test (also referred to as antigen test). This test detects protein fragments specific to the Coronavirus. Turnaround time for results is usually very quick and in some cases, results can be reported within 15 minutes.
- PCR test. PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in COVID-19 detection. This test actually detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection, even those who have no symptoms. Turnaround time is longer, generally within 2-3 business days, depending on demand.
- Antibody Testing. Covid-19 Antibody Testing is helpful for those who have recently recovered from COVID-19, or those who believe that they have already had COVID-19 but were asymptomatic or were not tested at that time. The test will determine if you have developed antibodies against the virus. The presence of antibodies indicate that you were likely infected with COVID-19 at some time in the past.
